Learn more about Tanya Hollis

Committed to kindness

A career spent in communications makes me the experienced, versatile, and helpful wordsmith you need.

It has also made clear the type of work that motivates me.

I’ve worked with clients in health promotion, medical research, disability support, and social services.

Like them, I’m all about building a fair and inclusive world. One that celebrates the diversity of the human experience.

What makes my copy different?

I use my professional writing powers to help you:

  • create inclusive and accessible content
  • reject stereotypes around age, gender, race, culture, disability, neurodivergence, and mental illness
  • communicate within the social model of disability
  • prioritise people’s abilities
  • avoid ableist narratives
  • understand and reflect changing language preferences.

In-person writing service for the Geelong region

With clients in Melbourne and interstate, I can write for you wherever you are.

But if you’re after some in-person face time and you’re based in Geelong or on the Surf Coast, know that I’m just around the corner.

Who is Tanya Hollis?

In over 25 years as a communicator, I have worked in a range of roles and settings. From major metropolitan media outlets and niche industry publications to world-leading medical research institutes and hard-working charity organisations. I have been part of large marketing departments, led comms teams, and worked as an independent freelancer

My working style is thoughtful and conscientious. Committed to accuracy and quality, I am reliable, responsive, and consistent.

You won’t hear me spouting ideas at our first meeting. I prefer to listen, take things in and let them percolate into satisfying solutions.

I also think about coffee a lot.

I hold a BA (Journalism) from RMIT University, and a GradDip (Public Relations) from Deakin University.
